3. Determination regarding the custody of guide dog “C.” pursuant to Business and Professions Code (BPC) Section 7215.6(f).
Legal Counsel Barker and EO Skewis outlined the purpose of the meeting and the process and procedure that the hearing will follow.

The school presented the reasons which lead to making the determination that guide dog “C” was not safe in its living environment. This included input regarding the dog’s physical condition from the field representative that took custody of the dog.

The client presented the reasons with which he disputed the school’s decision.
General discussion took place between the Committee Members, the school, and the client regarding the client’s ability to care for “C” pending a formal arbitration provided by BPC Section 7215.6.

The Committee Members made the decision that “C” will remain in the custody of the school pending any request for, and final decision by, the arbitration panel.
